Conditions of access to forest areas in Provence and Côte d'Azur

In summer, access to the forests of the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur region is often prohibited due to wildfire risks. Here is the daily map of authorized forest areas and those closed to the public.

Conditions of access to forest areas

Due to drought, high temperatures and wind, the south of France is very exposed to the risk of forest fires.
To protect nature but also hikers, local authorities decide every day whether access to forest areas is open or closed.
This map therefore allows you to know whether or not you are authorized to access the forests.

Please note, this also concerns certain trails which provide access to beaches. Particularly the coastal path, when it is located outside the city centers.

Parks located in the city center are not affected by this plan. On the other hand, those located outside city centers are linked to this map.

On certain days of exceptional wildfire risk, certain amusement parks and tourist places located near forests may also be closed to the public.

Finally, certain roads may also be closed, either throughout the summer season or temporarily on days with a high fire risk.

Except in certain authorized and clearly explained and arranged locations, the use of barbecues is prohibited in forests and on beaches in the south of France.
